In the realm of visual storytelling, I am Nick Ho. A filmmaker whose passion ignited in the era where resources were scarce and learning was an adventure in itself. At the tender age of 14 (1997), armed with limited information and an insatiable curiosity, I delved into the intricate craft of video-making. Back in 1997, online web search engines & tutorials were nonexistent, and the world of cameras was reserved for the select few with access to expensive equipment.
Undeterred by these limitations, I forged ahead. By 15, I taught myself the art of video editing, embracing a journey of self-discovery amidst meager resources and minimal guidance. By 17, I found myself capturing the cherished moments of weddings and events, transforming a hobby into an art form.
My hunger for knowledge led me to pursue a formal education in Digital Film & Television at Lim Kok Wing College in Malaysia, culminating in a Bachelor's degree in 2004. Post-graduation, I immersed myself in the realms of TV commercial production, exploring facets of the industry—be it location scouting, art direction, or the nuances of the camera department.
Venturing further into weddings video production at the age of 24, I set my sights higher. By 26, I earned the distinction of an International Wedding Cinematographer, honing my craft and crafting visual narratives that transcended borders. Capturing Stunning Wedding Journeys Worldwide.
At 33, life presented a challenge. I had been diagnosed with tennis elbow, I was advised against lifting anything over 1kg for six months. This unexpected turn prompted a shift in focus. I transitioned into Commercial and Social Media Video Production, leveraging my skills as a commercial director, and garnered accolades from competitions globally.
The year 2021 ushered in unprecedented changes. The pandemic confined us to our homes, fostering innovation. Harnessing this opportunity, I assembled a team of incredibly talented filmmakers—writers, directors, and cinematographers—and co-founded Amorphous Films Sdn. Bhd. Our collective vision is to infuse screens with narratives that radiate positivity, to craft stories that resonate and inspire.
